Emergency Teaching
Here is a quick go-to presentation for when you need something quick, open-ended, in a hurry.
When teaching, there is always a time when there are last minute changes. No time to plan. So, what will you do with students?
Teachers need some go-to activities in their back pocket, something they can instantly do with students and which works for most levels/ages. With experience, as we teachers fill up our “toolkit”, we collect activities for these situations.
Here is one that might work for you. Also, a few more that I’ll recommend in our Lesson Library.
Lesson A Day - download the free (this week) PPTx version.
Instant Video Lessons. Use these templates for almost any video. Also, see our Start. Play. Pause presentation of instant video lessons.
Prompt Generators. Select a topic and put on a screen. Students reply to the random prompt. Ask follow up questions! Also, see our Random Image Generator - with each photo discuss what’s happening, pull out vocabulary and more …
Flashcards. These work wonders and can be used for all levels. See our many types of flashcards. In particular our Get Speaking Conversation Cards sets. One of the most wishlisted teaching products on Amazon!
What’s your ‘go-to’ emergency teaching material? Let us know in the comments, we’d love to try it out.
