Dear Teachers,
We wrote previously, outlining many activities and ideas for back to school and helping students get to know each other.
However, it is equally important for teachers to share some things about themselves and allow their curious students to get to know them, the teacher, better.
Here are a few lesson resources and ideas that work wonders in this regard.
This or That. Put up choices and students guess about which the teacher prefers. After, check. Who got the most right?
A presentation about your life. They are simple to make, even just share a few photos of yourself and get students to ask questions about them. Or use a simple poster template.
Teacher Interview. Get students in small groups to write down questions they’d like to ask you. Then have a press conference and let them ask. Of course, as a teacher, you can “pass”. Just like students can during class!
Letter To The Teacher. Start a dialogue with students and get them to write a letter to you (or email or online comment/post) and ask you questions, start a discussion.
Just a few ideas for letting students know more about you. It’s really helpful in building classroom atmosphere, team building and motivating students.
