Dear Subscribers,
We’ve recently updated our “Stand Up If” games. Download them in the Lesson Library.
It’s an easy game to play. Just show the PPTx slide and students read the statement. If they answer “Yes” to it - they stand up. Others in the class can then ask them follow up questions. It’s a lot of fun and there are versions with or without music.
I’ve used Stand Up If as a needs assessment. Students stand up and the front of the class is yes, back of the class, no. Read statements for your own needs assessment. Ex. I have a parent at home to help with homework. I live close to school. I have studied English for 2 or more years. I learn best by reading.
Also - try this game!
It’s a fun game. There is also a card version and question statements. And too, on our YouTube channel, video versions of the games. Video 1. Video 2.
What’s essential are two things: 1. Allow follow up questions 2. After the regular game, get Ss making up their own statements, reading them out to survey the class. This allows them to personalize and find out info. they want to find out about each other in class.
Enjoy this classic game!
