Summer is upon us and it is a fantastic topic for a lesson or two. Here are some suggestions to inspire you to design a summer themed lesson.

See all our “summer” related resources in the lesson library.

  1. Summer Vocabulary. Have an A to Z race. Students list summer related vocabulary and then compare. See our free game template.

  2. Summer Bucket List. What do your students dream of doing over the summer break. Design a bucket list of summer activities and compare.

  3. Summers Around The World. Compare how other countries and cultures spend their summer time. See this video lesson.

  4. Camping. Teach a lesson about camping, discuss camping, what’s needed, what is a “must” to bring and more. See some of our “camping” lesson materials.

  5. Acrostic Poem. Using the letters SUMMER, students write sentences about summer beginning with each letter of the word.

  6. All Summer In A Day. Old but forever fresh. Short film about a future group of students who only get summer and see the sun once every seven years!

Teaching a summer camp? Here is our free for members list of lessons and activities for a summer camp.

Teachers, we hope you get a summer break and stay tuned for news of what we’ll be up to over the summer. Happy battery recharging!
