Summer, Summer, Summer
Summer is here and it is a fun topic for any classroom. Here are some suggestions.

It’s summer here in the northern hemisphere and I hope all teachers will get a nice break! I’ll be teaching here, but don’t worry - it is right on a beach!
We have many, many lesson materials to use when teaching the theme of “summer”. Here are a few suggestions you might use in your teaching.
Summer plans. Brainstorm and share summer plans, what you are going to do over the summer. See the video above as an example. Or also, try this bucket list - things you dream about doing any summer. See these discussion questions.
Summer related vocabulary. Use our full Summer A to Z brainstorm sheet for this. Also, try this video or this one. See this full book of activities. Or this one.
The Summer Olympics are in Paris this summer. A great way to talk about sports. We have SO MANY related Olympic resources. See this full post.
Summer Elsewhere. What do other cultures do during their summers? See this full video lesson on the topic.
All Summer In A Day. A classic short film and short story by Ray Bradbury. It will fascinate students and is timeless, ageless. See the full lesson book.
Summer Camps. Teaching a summer camp like me, this summer? Well, here are some camp activities you might use. Also, why not teach the topic of camping - it’s summer related!
Lemonade. How to make lemonade? It’s a favorite summer drink and try out our resources where students learn and then try to tell others how to make the perfect glass of lemonade.
Summers past. Students can write about or tell stories about what they did in summers past and share their favorite memories or summer vacations. See these discussion questions.
Plan a road trip. It can be a fun thing to do and plan! See these templates.
Enjoy teaching about SUMMER and enjoy your own summer.
