Dear ELT Buzz subscribers,

This week I’d like to highlight a few resources in the library that teach students not just language but “about the world”. They raise critical awareness of how others live on this planet that is much smaller than we might think.

1. If The World Were A Village Of 100 People. A very popular resource on our other sales platforms (TpTs. Amazon.), this presentation uses an info. video to get students thinking about different categories of people in the world. First students guess then watch to see the real answers.

2. What Students In The World Eat For Lunch. A great resource to explore the English names for food and compare your own situation with students around the world. Also, this reader about weekly groceries.

3. Where The Hell Is Matt. A classic. Matt traveled the world and danced in every country. His videos are classic and students enjoy them. Great for learning the English names of countries together.

5. Summer Holidays Around The World. An older news story that explores what other cultures do to enjoy the summer months.

I also highly recommend the fantastic series of videos 7 Billion Others. A gem and it consists of interviews with subtitles of people around the world, on a variety of subjects.
