Thank You Mom!

It's Mothers Day soon. Here are a few ideas for lessons about our dear mothers.

Mother's Day is on Sunday and it is a great topic for the English language classroom. So many possibilities. See all our related resources in the lesson library. However, here are some simply suggestions for class activities on the theme of “our mothers”.

  1. Write cards. Students can take an A4 sheet of paper and write and design cards for their mothers. Get inspired with the video - people saying what they thank their mothers for. Also, use this template we’ve designed.

  2. All About My Mother. Students fill out information about their mother and share with classmates. It helps to get to know each other more. Compare moms! See this template we’ve designed.

  3. Write an acrostic poem using the letters of MOTHER. Students write sentences for each letter and read them as a poem. See our example.

  4. Vocabulary. Study vocabulary related to “mothers” and this special day. Word finds, scrambles, finish the sentences, feud and more … See this game bundle, one example in the lesson library.

  5. The Good Mother. What makes a “good” mother. Discuss. See the video (it’s one of the most popular) and discuss why she is a good mom. Have a discussion about mothers!
