Sometimes as a teacher, it is good to look at our teaching practices and see what ingredients might be missing in our lesson recipes.
Here is a handy way to do this kind of reflection - a list for each of the 4 skills of English, of the core activities for teaching each: speaking, listening, reading and writing. Plus, a list of one for using video-watching. Often called the 5th skill of language. See the full description for Speaking and Reading. The others, are forthcoming.
Review these (download all the infographics below) and see which ones you aren’t using and think about if you might add them to your lessons. Also, how might you adapt them when teaching online through zoom or another video conference suite?
