The World Cup will start next week and I’d like to introduce members to the lesson resources available in our library. Here are a few that you might use with students.

  1. Schedule and Quiz. PPTx. A handy, beautiful presentation going through the teams and also quizzing students on their knowledge of the World Cup.

  2. World Cup Project. Students follow the World Cup for one team. Also, research their country and present to the class about the country.

  3. Webquest. A detailed online Webquest about the World Cup. Answer key.

  4. The Game of Soccer. Bundle of activities to explore all the vocabulary related to the sport.

  5. Whiteboard Soccer. Have you tried this in class? It’s a great game! Easy to do on a board or screen and perfect for reviewing content.

  6. Football Equipment. Review all the equipment and vocabulary for playing the game of soccer.

  7. Design your own football jersey. Students can get very creative, making their own motto, logo and jersey for their favorite team.

  8. How about a Top 5 quiz game? Students guess the top 5 answers for each category, like Family Feud.

I hope you enjoy these ideas and also enjoy following the World Cup with students!
