Do you remember the TV series - What Would You Do? Jog your memory with our playlist of episodes.
What Would You Do features short programs where a situation is set up and actors fool people - all so they can see what people would actually do when faced with a dilemma. Racism, noisy neighbors, rude people, disabilities, emergencies … the topics are endless.
It’s a great video resource for the classroom.
Set up the scenario. Ask students what they would do if … ? Fill in a card to complete the sentence.
Play the episode. Ask again, do students change their mind? Would they do the same as the people in the episode did? What is the same, different?
Debrief. Talk about the issue, the cause and why it happens, how to prevent it.

Scenarios are great to use in class. One additional related activity is for students to think of their own dilemma and scenario. Write it out. Then walk around the class, mingle and share their situation - survey the class and report back on what others would do in the situation.
