Listen now | I’ve been giving teachers advice for what it seems forever. Now entering the twilight years of my career. 30 years in. Still though, I feel a vigor and a belief in the right way … a need to give some advice. There is so much work to be done in education — to challenge the structures in place and re-invent education for students and teachers alike.
Advice given when asked for is valuable. Advice given gratuitously can be seen in many ways: unwanted, not needed, arrogant, the writer's reality (for example at different stages of your teaching experience different criteria may be in play why you teach, how much you enjoy it, how effective your teaching is etc.) is not always the same as the readers'.
